The company covered travel expenses and paid for the accommodation for the professors and students from Moscow.
GITIS, Russian Institute of Theatre Arts, has teamed up with the Arctic State Institute of Culture and Arts to hold drama classes. The curriculum focuses on acting, speech training, and stage presence.
The professors picked The Stationmaster (Stantsionnyi smotritel), a tale by Alexander Pushkin, as an inspiration for the training. It will all come together on 28 September: the students will show their performance to celebrate the great Russian poet’s 225th birthday.
“Our GITIS professors are holding very intensive, very advanced drama classes. We are also learning a lot from the Arctic Institute, and they are getting the full GITIS experience. We are very grateful to RNG; they’ve been extremely supportive of our endeavours with the Arctic Institute. The students appreciate the opportunity greatly,” says Grigory Zaslavsky, Head of GITIS.
