RBC special report “Business Territory”

31.03.2021

The town of Mirny in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is known as the “diamond capital” of Russia, because of the world’s largest diamond quarries, the Mir kimberlite pipe. Today, the mining of gemstones has been suspended, the quarry is mothballed, and the balance of the republican economy is leaning from diamonds to oil and gas, which open up new horizons for the region. About this – in the RBC program.

Speakers:

  • Andrey Tarasenko, Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)
  • Yevgeny Cherykaev, Chief Engineer of RNG
  • Vadim Nikitin, Deputy Chief Engineer of RNG
  • Igor Vidman, Deputy Head of the Administration of the Mirninsky region for construction, housing and public utilities
