On 24 February, applications opened for the annual education award for teachers across the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), an initiative launched and backed by RNG as General Partner.
In 2026, the competition celebrates its fifth anniversary. To be eligible, a teacher must have at least three years of educational experience in primary, elementary, middle, or high schools, or shine in further or vocational education, regardless of their institution’s profile.
The selection committee will pick Yakutia’s crème de la crème when it comes to schooling, aka educators that are major contributors to the development of the education system, and honour them with a RUB 100,000 award. The award will recognise a teacher who has gone above and beyond when it comes to student achievements, their successful participation in academic competitions, extracurriculars, and special projects, and professional accomplishments.
RNG launched the awards in December 2021. Since then, 1,542 teachers from every district of the republic have entered the competition, and 400 winners have received prizes. Organisers expect the anniversary season to attract the highest number of participants yet.
Submissions are open until 27 March. The winners will be honoured at a ceremony in Yakutsk on 24 April, on the eve of Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Formation Day.
