The project is the brainchild of Russia’s RosPrirodNadzor environmental service, and the company has been its avid supporter for four years now.
The award call for Season 5 entries has opened, and all submissions are due 1 April 2025. The contest welcomes all kinds of creative pieces, from videos to photos to drawings, environmental ideas, and projects. Since its establishment, the award has seen 210+ thousand entries from 78 countries.
There are twelve categories, two for teams and ten for individual submissions. Ekologiya—Delo Kazhdogo (Russian for Environment is Everybody’s Business) is happy to see participants of all ages: for example, there is no minimal age requirement for Eco-Family and Eco-Union categories, just as there is no upper age limit for Eco-Tourism and Eco-Focus.
The results will be published in 2025, with winners and runners-up getting special certificates and gifts. Prospective students will get to reap the benefits of their victory, too, as 120 Russian universities have joined the award: they will give 1–10 additional points to winners and runners-up, a great boost for matriculation.
