RNG has sponsored a programme of events in Moscow marking the 60th anniversary of Geologist Day. Held on 31 March and 1 April, the anniversary programme brought together senior figures from across the geology and mineral resources sector, along with representatives of government and business from across Russia.
The milestone was marked by a major two-day industry forum backed by the Federal Agency for Subsoil Use. The programme featured an extended session of the Rosnedra Board and the 9th Russian National Congress of Geologists.
RNG employees joined the Board session and contributed to specialist round tables focused on the industry’s strategic priorities. Among the main themes were the long-term development of the mineral resource base, advances in exploration methods, the digital evolution of geological data, and the renewal of the resource base. Speakers also examined the role of new technologies in improving the quality and efficiency of exploration.
The forum created space for a productive exchange between government, academia and industry, and marked an important step in shaping a shared agenda for the sector’s future.
