RNG Helps Bring Yakutia’s Yhyаkh Festival to Moscow

14.07.2026

The Company helped stage this year’s Yhyаkh festival at the Kolomenskoye Museum Reserve in Moscow, contributing to the event’s funding and joining the celebrations.

Rooted in ancient traditions of fertility, Yhyаkh is traditionally celebrated at the summer solstice. Its Moscow edition has become a highlight of the capital’s cultural calendar.

This year’s festival reflected both the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia and the Year of Culture in Yakutia. The programme opened a window onto some of the Republic’s best-known traditions: the sacred Algys blessing ceremony, a mas-wrestling tournament and the ancient Osuokhai circle dance.

Kolomenskoye also hosted an exhibition which recreated elements of traditional Yakut life, while a bustling fair offered local crafts, jewellery and regional food. Artisans shared their skills in hands-on workshops. On the main stage, ensembles from Yakutia appeared alongside musicians playing the khomus, the Republic’s national instrument.

RNG has a long record of working with projects that keep the heritage of the Indigenous Peoples of the North visible and relevant. The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to the President of the Russian Federation thanked the Company for its contribution to one of Yakutia’s most important cultural traditions.
