The RNG Ecologists Released Another Batch of Pelyad Juveniles Into the Water Bodies of Yakutia

02.07.2024

The company continues water bioresources reproduction programme. The ecologists released into the Aannyaah River, the tributary of the Vilyui reservoir, more than 185 thousand salmonid juveniles from RNG and more than 15 thousand juveniles from its sister company YakutStroyProekt.

Fingerlings of whitefish species are specially grown in laboratory conditions at the Chernyshevsky Fish Hatchery State Unitary Enterprise by order of RNG. This is the only enterprise in Yakutia for fish breeding. The water for this purpose is taken from the Vilyui reservoir, and the process of artificial spawning takes several months.

They are transported to the river in oxygen-pumped polyethylene capsules. When the water temperature in the capsule reaches river indicators, the juvenile fish is released into the reservoir. In 2018-2024, the RNG ecologists released 2 million 767 thousand pelyad juveniles into the rivers of Yakutia.

The ecologists note the high survival of pelyad—in three years, the grown fish will bring offspring, which will contribute to increasing the number of valuable fish in the water bodies of the republic.
