RNG has supported a team of young boxers from Mirninsky District ahead of the Championship in Krasnodar, helping cover the cost of their training camp and competition kit.
The Russian Junior Boxing Championships have come to a close in Krasnodar, the capital of Kuban in southern Russia. Boxers from Mirninsky District put in a strong performance, showing solid preparation and sharp technical skills in the ring.
The Mirny athletes competed in three weight classes: 51 kg, 57 kg and 75 kg. The team’s best result came from Danil Prokudin in the 75 kg category. He won two bouts and reached the quarter-finals, where he was narrowly beaten in a hard-fought contest by the boxer who went on to win the title.
Aleksandr Sigaenko, Chairperson of the Mirninsky District Boxing Federation, thanked the Company for helping the team prepare for the championships. He said that support from responsible businesses was vital to creating more opportunities for young athletes and encouraging wider participation in sport across the republic.
