The Ecology is Everyone’s Business Award was established by Rosprirodnadzor to encourage teenagers from 7 to 16 years old who care about the environment. The new season started in early March, during this time the participants sent more than 15 thousand works from 85 regions of the Russian Federation and 17 foreign countries. This is one and a half times more than for the entire application period last year. The most active participants in the project are teenagers from Moscow, Krasnodar Krai, Rostov and Novosibirsk regions.
They upload on internet sites their creative works and environmental initiatives aimed at nature conservation and care. You can apply in nine categories. At the moment, the most popular of them are Ecofocus and Ecodrawing.
“The main goal of our project is to involve children and teenagers in the environmental agenda, supporting their eco-activity in popular formats. We are glad that our younger generation cares about the world they live in. They show by personal example what exactly they are ready to do to change it for the better. So, together, we are proving that ecology is everyone’s business,” said Svetlana Radionova, head of the Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources.
The most talented and active participants of the award will visit the all-Russian children’s centre Orlyonok. 150 children will take advantage of the opportunity this year. Applications from participants will be accepted until October 1, the results of the competition will be summed up in November after the completion of the jury’s work.
