Dorogy Pobedy Festival Sponsored by RNG Strikes its Final Note in St. Petersburg

12.05.2025

9 May saw the conclusion of Dorogy Pobedy (Russian for Roads of Victory), a music festival commemorating the 80th anniversary of the USSR’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The festival closed with a concert at the Boarding School for Female Students of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation of the St. Petersburg Cadet Corps. With the Company’s financial help, the festival was able to host Symphonica ARTica, the symphony orchestra of the State Philharmonia of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

This is another joint project of RNG and Fabio Mastrangelo’s Musical Art Development Fund, as their partnership goes way back.

The orchestra performed Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 7 nicknamed the Leningrad Symphony, a musical symbol of the fortitude and courage of the defenders of the besieged city. Maestro Fabio Mastrangelo brought together the Severnaya Simfoniya (Russian for Northern Symphony) symphony orchestra of the F. I. Chaliapin Music Theatre; Symphonica ARTica, the symphony orchestra of the State Philharmonia of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia); and students of the Lugansk State Academy of Culture and Arts named after M. Matusovsky.

“I am happy that the Festival now symbolises unity and national pride. The Great Patriotic War touched the lives of every family with no exceptions. We must make sure that we remember the selfless feat of heroes of the Great Patriotic War and preserve its memory for years and years to come,” says Fabio Mastrangelo, artistic director and chief conductor of the Dorogy Pobedy Festival.

This is not the first time RNG has come to support Symphonica ARTica and sponsor their major musical endeavours as the symphony orchestra of the State Philharmonia of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). The Festival has marked the 80th anniversary of the USSR’s Victory in the Great Patriotic War and become one of the many fascinating events that the country has in store to celebrate the event.
