Yakutsk held the 4th International Bibliographic Congress, focused on the role of bibliography in preserving cultural heritage and linguistic diversity, which brought together over 900 delegates from 16 countries and 85 Russian regions.
RNG representatives joined roundtable discussions and expert panels throughout the multi-day forum.
Held under the patronage of UNESCO, this year’s congress also marked the 100th anniversary of the National Library of Yakutia. Participants explored current challenges and opportunities related to promoting multilingualism in an increasingly globalised world. Central to the discussions was the role of libraries in preserving and promoting national languages and cultural identity.
