A new helipad has opened in Svetly, with RNG helping get the site ready for use. The Company supplied crushed stone and sent in equipment at the request of the local authorities.
The new helipad is now up and running. The first helicopter touched down on 16 September, carrying Aisen Nikolaev, Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). He travelled to Svetly for the commissioning of the fourth generating unit at the Svetlinskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant, which supplies power to local communities and mining operations across the region.
For remote parts of Yakutia, air access can be essential. The Svetly helipad will give emergency teams another way to reach the settlement quickly and will be used by air ambulance and rescue services when needed.
Gennady Tsygulya of the Mirninsky District Administration thanked RNG for moving quickly to help get the helipad ready. He also praised the Company’s involvement in infrastructure projects across the district.
