RNG continues to implement the program for the replenishment of aquatic biological resources

Over 214 thousand peled fry were released by the company’s ecologists into a tributary of the Vilyui reservoir — the Aannyaakh river, which flows through the territory of the Mirninsky district.

The fry were raised in laboratory conditions by order of RNG at the Chernyshevsky Fish Hatchery State Unitary Enterprise. This is the only enterprise in Yakutia for fish breeding. RNG has been carrying out measures to compensate for possible damage to water resources for several years. This initiative, in particular, is aimed at maintaining biological diversity in the rivers of the region.

Experts note the high survival rate of peled — in a few years, this fish of the salmon family will bring offspring in the waters of the reservoir. Fry are delivered to the reservoir in special bags, and so that they do not have a temperature shock, the bags are kept in water for some time.

According to the results of the research by scientists from All-Russian Research Institute of Fisheries and Oceanography, it is the Vilyui reservoir and its tributaries that have the necessary food supply for salmon fish, the necessary temperature regime and other conditions for their survival and reproduction.

“The company strictly follows the current standards and actively participates in the replenishment of biological resources. The release of over 214 thousand peled fry into the tributary of the Vilyui reservoir, the Aannyaakh river, was another step in this direction,” said Evgeny Cherykaev, Deputy General Director, Chief Engineer of RNG.

An important part of RNG’s environmental policy is related to the reproduction of aquatic biological resources. In 2018–2020, the company’s ecologists released over one million peled fry into the Yakutia rivers. The studies have shown that the state of the investigated water area is within the normal range, no deviations from the indicators of the natural functioning of coastal ecosystems have been revealed.
