Under the cooperation agreement between the company and the All-Russian public organization «Russian Red Cross» humanitarian kits with essential goods for flood victims were purchased and delivered by helicopter.
Heavy rains caused a sharp rise in the water level in the Dulgaly up-river of the Verkhoyansky District in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia). The settlements of Suordah and Tomtor, home to about 600 people, including more than 160 children, were flooded. With the financial support of RNG JSC Russian Red Cross Yakut Regional Branch was able to purchase about 300 sets of humanitarian aid and provide them to sufferers.
“First and foremost we try to provide all the victims with the necessary things, such as food, hygienic and bedding, household goods. Through the partnership with RNG JSC we can quickly provide these people with effective assistance”, said Pavel Savchuk, Chairman of Russian Red Cross.
In addition, this week, Russian Red Cross Yakut branch has begun the training of a rapid response team to emergencies among volunteers in its camp. Volunteers will be trained to provide first aid and psychosocial support to victims of disasters. After that, there will be a practical part to use the acquired skills.
