Joint campaign of Rosprirodnadzor and Football Union of Russia (FUR), supporting the International Children’s and Youth Ecology is Everyone’s Business Award, was dedicated to Lake Baikal Day.
Young football players with their coachers, parents and friends went out to clear territories for six days in 73 cities of Russia from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok. In particular, the action took place in Yakutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Makhachkala and Podolsk. 1.5 thousand athletes took part in the environmental event. As well as Alexei Smertin, the famous footballer, who played for Russian team and was its captain.
“Sport plays an important role in the life of every person, because it is, first of all, a healthy lifestyle. Our award is also about health. We cultivate environmental habits in children. Football is one of the most beloved folk games that unites like-minded people around the world. So is our environmental award. The task is to work together to make our planet cleaner so that we can leave it healthy for future generations,” commented Svetlana Radionova, head of Rosprirodnadzor.
Rosprirodnadzor established International Children and Youth Ecology is Everyone’s Business Award in March last year. The award is open to children and adolescents aged 6 to 17. Creative works are accepted in 9 nominations. Ecofamily and Ecoschool are the team ones. In addition, seven individual ones: Ecoworld, Ecoproject, Ecoblogger, Ecodrawing, Ecofocus, Ecocartoon, ESG-generation.
Currently more than 25 thousand applications has been submitted. There are works from all regions of Russia and from more than 20 countries of the world. The contest results will be announced in November.
