Ecologists of RNG Released Another Consignment of Pelyad in Yakutia

24.06.2022

The company continues to implement the program of artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources. The specialists of the company released into the Aannyaah River, the tributary of the Vilyui reservoir, more than 211 thousand of juvenile fish.

“Chernyshevsky Fish-Rearing Station” grows young fish in laboratory conditions at the request of RNG. It is one and only fish farm in Yakutia. The station takes water from the Vilyui reservoir, and the process of artificial fish rearing from spawn to fry takes several months.

When the fingerlings grows, they are placed in special oxygen-pumped polyethylene capsules and taken to the river. When the temperature of the water in the capsule reaches the river one, the baby fish are released into the reservoir. Experts note high survivalship of pelyad, and three years later, the full-grown fish will breed, which will contribute to the increase of Salmonidae family population.

“Responsible attitude to the environment and the rational use of resources are the main priorities of RNG. The company invests heavily in environment protection. The artificial reproduction of aquatic biological resources is the important part of our environmental policy”, commented Vladimir Rakitin, General Director of RNG.

Since 2018, the ecologists of RNG released 1 million 556 thousand of pelyad juveniles to the rivers of Yakutia.
