RNG places particular emphasis on sponsorship, charity and social responsibility initiatives, including support of the indigenous small-numbered peoples of the North. The company provides support to underprivileged people in the village of Tas-Yuryakh, including families raising children with disabilities and low-income citizens. RNG provides free treated water to Tas-Yuryakh public institutions.
As an advocate for preservation of the national cultural heritage, RNG is actively involved in the Program for Socio-Economic Development of the Botuobinsky Nasleg Municipal Unit 2017-2021.
In cooperation with the administrations of the Mirny District Municipal Unit and the settlement of Botuobinsky Nasleg, the central street and square in the village of Tas-Yuryakh were redeveloped.
June 2017 marked the official opening of the Druzhba bridge which crosses the Taas-Yurekh and connects the Vilyui Federal Highway to the license area at the Eastern Blocks of the Srednebotuobinskoye oil and gas condensate field. The construction of the bridge took two years, with the whole scope of work completed by RNG in partnership with VostSibSpetsMontazh.
In September 2017, RNG supplied over 150 tons of oil to the village of Suntar to provide heating at 45 socially significant facilities during the winter season. Whereas other petroleum companies refused to help, RNG employees responded promptly and delivered the fuel by themselves despite the harsh weather conditions.
In 2017, following the request of the Mirny District Administration RNG paved the entire area around the kindergarten in the village of Tas-Yuryakh with top-grade crushed stone.
Furthermore, RNG provided support to Murbaisky Nasleg (Lensk District, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)) in the landscaping of the cemetery in the village of Severnaya Nyuya. Construction is in progress of a solid domestic and industrial waste landfill which is also expected to be used to dispose of wastes from the village of Tas-Yuryakh.
The year 2018 was the first year to celebrate Oil and Gas Industry Workers’ Day in Mirny. RNG sponsored the event with a RUB 500,000 budget.
Last October RNG acted as a title partner at the Strategic Planning Leaders Forum in Saint Petersburg. Over the two-day agenda, the forum hosted 38 events in 15 formats, with more than a thousand participants involved. The pool of 270 speakers included representatives of the federal authorities, the global expert community, and leaders of the regional and municipal authorities.
The Forum brought together representatives from 60 regions of the Russian Federation. Traditionally, the Strategic Planning Leaders Forum welcomed a large delegation of over 100 foreign experts from 30 countries.
Besides, since 2014 the Company has provided financial support to the student communities of the Republic.
In cooperation with educational institutions of Yakutia, RNG also implements a program for the training of graduates for the oil and gas industry. The program combines theory and practical training using advanced educational technology required for petroleum enterprises.
Together with the Mirny Regional Technical College and Svetly Industrial Technical School, RNG is working on a joint educational initiative as part of a project offered by Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO REGION-PROFI.
Since 2014, an agreement has been in force between RNG and Autonomous Non-for-Profit Organisation “Headquarters of Student Teams of Vocational Schools of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)” regarding the development and economic evaluation of recruitment initiatives to attract local workforce to the Company.
